DISPATCH

The La Joya police communications department is an essential part of the police department. The communications department is manned 24 hrs, 365 days a year, including holidays & weekends. In order to work as a communications officer a lot of training is involved as in the certification by the Texas Department of Public Safety. In this department, our communications officers handle 911 emergency calls for service, requests & /or any needs by the citizens. We handle all other non-emergency calls through our regular line number: 956-585-4855. Our communications department also maintains constant contact with the police officers via a 2-channel radio in which calls for service are dispatched and reports are taken. PATROL

Patrol Division is comprised of the officers assigned to uniformed patrol, which are the first to respond to calls for assistance in the community. The Patrol Division operates 24 hours a day 365 days a year and it consists of three shifts. The Patrol Division provides general police services in its daily operations.
